What emotions do you think dog’s feel? How do they express these emotions? Thinking about feelings from a dog’s perspective can help you think more about how to help animals and people. In Lesson 3.7: A Dog’s Point of View, from the Grades 7 & 8 curriculum, students will further enhance their perspective-taking skills and learn how thinking about others and taking the perspective of an animal can lead to caring and compassion. Thinking about life from a dog’s perspective will further enhance empathy and encourage students to consider how the actions of humans might have a deep impact on animals.

Try it yourself with this activity: What If…? In this lesson, student will write a short story from the perspective of an old dog.
