Teacher of the Month: Barbara Aragon

Teachers implementing the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum are featured in this column. This month’s Featured Teacher, Barbara Aragon, is a fourth/fifth grade teacher at Fenton Avenue Charter School in Lake View Terrace, CA.

Barbara Aragon has been a teacher at Fenton Avenue Charter School since 1996. She has taught grades 1-5 and currently holds a fourth/fifth grade position. She started her Mutt-i-gree® journey by being selected as the lead Mutt-i-grees® teacher by her peers. She has been motivated to expand the program by implementing engaging lessons and working with her "Budd-i-gree" students. Barbara and her students choreographed the Underdog Raps flashmob and she continues to work with organizations in her local community to bring awareness to the plight of shelter animals and promote the compassionate and responsible treatment of all pets. Her best advice for teachers beginning their Mutt-i-gree® journey is to share their ideas, be creative, and to honor the program by maintaining enthusiasm and commitment!
