Every month the Mutt-i-grees team at North Shore Animal League America travels to NYC to visit the unaccompanied minors at Catholic Charities Immigration Services. The team brings puppies along with games and puzzles to play with the children who can be as young as 5 years old.

“Puppies come in to help make the youth feel more comfortable before their meetings with lawyers and help them open up and share the very personal and private details that will help them make a good case for asylum.”

Anthony Enriquez, Catholic Charities
