The Mutt-i-grees Curriculum RescuEd Video Series is a resource for educators that shows a behind the scenes look at North Shore Animal League’s rescue, adoption, training and education efforts.

The below segments can be used in conjunction with the curriculum and is appropriate for all ages.

Episode 1 – Behavior: The Importance of Reading Signals​

Our wonderful canine and feline rescues enrich our lives and embody a plethora of traits that we humans can learn from. In this episode of RescuEd, Sean Patrick Malloy, Shelter Manager & Pet Behaviorist , discusses how Animal League America behaviorally evaluates its canine rescues and takes particular care to support and nurture when traits of anxiety are identified. You will meet our beloved Arnie who when first came to us, could not even look you in the eye and would cower in a corner frightened. 

The experience with Arnie ties directly into the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum’s 5 themes of achieving awareness, finding feelings, encouraging empathy, cultivating cooperation and dealing with decisions. Watch and fall in love with Arnie!
