During this challenging time we must still support our students in new reimagined ways. We are happy that we can engage them through our virtual internship to learn about the care and wellbeing of animals, career opportunities while cultivating empathy and teaching resiliency via rescue pets. We are excited to launch our first Virtual Mutt-i-grees Internship with veterinary technical students at Abraham Lincoln High School. Students video chat with the Mutt-i-grees team each week as we take them through the various departments of the world’s largest no kill animal welfare organization. Learning from North Shore Animal League America’s expert staff what it takes to rescue, nurture, and adopt homeless animals. From grooming to shelter operations, pet behavior and medical, these students are provided with a unique learning experience that bridges social emotional learning with humane education all while discovering the different ways they can help rescue animals and become leaders in their communities.
