Description

Developed in partnership with North Shore Animal League America and Yale University, the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum is designed to teach to the whole child. Enhancing students’ social and emotional competence, they learn critical skills that are the foundation of academic and life-long success. Viewing life through the lens of rescue pets’ students develop empathy, learn what it is to have resiliency and make ethical decisions. These skills help students to move beyond themselves and care about others, animals, the environment – the world. With service learning at its base, it teaches students that no matter your age, you have the power to make positive change happen.

The school dog program is part of the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum. While it is not required to have a live animal to use the curriculum, many schools have integrated this aspect into their program. Read some of their success stories.
