The two-day training will include an overview of the research base for the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum, discussions and breakout sessions on different implementation techniques, and plenary panel discussions by principals, administrators, and counselors in Mutt-i-grees® schools. Training staff and Peer Trainers will lead sessions on:
- Implementation options at different grade levels (PreK-Grade 12 and in afterschool programs) and impact on school climate
- The Common Core State Standards and the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum
- Using the Curriculum in mainstream classrooms and in afterschool programs
- The use of the Curriculum as an intervention with special needs students and bullying prevention
- The role of a dog in the school as a counselor, reading assistant, and teacher’s helper, as well as implementing the program without a dog
- Mutt-i-grees® in the Library
- How the Curriculum supports the Dignity for All Students Act
A behind-the-scenes tour of the Animal League America and sessions on youth development programs, internships, and service learning/Mutt-i-grees® Club Activities will also be included.

ON-SITE STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Our peer trainers can provide on-site training at your school. We encourage administrators to host Mutt-i-grees® professional development training to support staff development and promote Mutt-i-grees® activities within your particular school.
