Join administrators, counselors, and other educators for an in-depth review of the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum and its impact on student behavior and academic performance. Also included will be the latest research on the benefits of the human-animal bond, as well as discussions on the use of the Curriculum in special education and alternative education settings. In addition, attendees will learn about a new focus on the family, student internship opportunities, and upcoming special events.

A behind-the-scenes tour and lunch at North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, may be arranged on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, for those interested. Attendees must make their own travel arrangements.

Orientation will include a foundational overview of the research base for the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum, implementation options, and a behind-the-scenes tour of Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, as well as discussions of service learning, internships, youth development programs, and collaborations between schools, libraries, and animal shelters. Attendees will also participate in a model Mutt-i-grees lesson/activity.

Educators/librarians in schools/libraries that are interested in or have just begun implementing the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum/Mutt-i-grees in the Library are encouraged to attend. For more information, please contact Byron Logan at byronl@animalleague.org.
