Thirty Pre Veterinary Animal Science Students came to learn about rescue and the work and compassion it takes to ready these beloved animals for adoption into a loving home. The students were hands-on in various shelter departments, including: Shelter Operations, Behavioral, Grooming, Shelter Medical, Foster Care and Rescue. Through experiential tasks, the children learned social emotional skills bridged with humane education. Necessary skills for success in school – in life, based on the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum five themes: Achieving Awareness, Finding Feelings, Encouraging Empathy, Cultivating Cooperation, and Dealing with Decisions.
