Mutt-i-grees Ending the School Year on a High Note at M.S 88
The Mutt-i-grees team made their last assembly visit of the 2015-2016 school year at M.S 88 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The Mutt-i-grees Curriculum has had such an impact on the students that they wanted to do something meaningful to give back to shelter pets in need. The school librarian, Kyra Wolfe, organized a blanket and towel drive and motivated students in every grade to collect as many items as they could. The winning class received a special visit and assembly from the Mutt-i-grees team who brought along two adoptable puppies. The donated items were later brought to the animals waiting for adoption at North Shore Animal League America to make them more comfortable while they wait for their new homes.
The students learned so much about rescue, adoption, empathy and responsibility through our visits that they’ve invited us to come back next year! Kyra and other staff members are now getting the students ready to organize a MUTTS Club and they have even nominated a Mutt-i-grees student ambassador. Working with the staff and students at M.S 88 has been such a rewarding experience and we can’t wait to see them all again in the fall!
