Compassionate Competition

In December, Mutt-i-grees® schools in the Independence, MO School District held a friendly competition to help animals suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Two collection jars were placed in the main office – one called ‘Pennies for Pups’ and another called ‘Coins for Kitties.’

Flippin' Fun Fundraiser

On February 19, 2013, M.U.T.T.S. Club members from Clinton and South Side schools held a "Flippin' Early Pancake Breakfast" and served breakfast to students, parents, and community members. They raised approximately $200, which they will present to the Van Buren County Animal Shelter. Way to go M.U.T.T.S. Club!

School Children Collect Supplies for Mutt-i-grees Just Like Scooby-Doo - and Get to Meet Him (and Shaggy) in Person!

Cheers and applause rang out as students of New York City’s PS20 John Bowne in Flushing, Queens received a very special visit on the morning of Thursday, February 21. Scooby-Doo, along with Shaggy, strolled down the aisle of the school auditorium while getting high fives from their fans as they walked by. One little boy in the audience came prepared to meet the celebrities, holding his own plush rendition of the cartoon canine in his arms. These lucky students were receiving an exciting courtesy visit between performances as Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries was making the rounds on its nationwide tour.

School-wide Pet Food Drive Benefits Van Buren County Animal Shelter

In February, Clinton Public Schools held a school-wide pet food drive to benefit the Van Buren County Animal Shelter. They school collected two truckloads of pet food, leashes, bowls, toys, kitty litter, blankets and towels.

Tour For Life® 2013 Participating Schools

This year, students from schools all across the country are helping their local shelters as part of North Shore Animal League America’s national Tour For Life. In the spirit of the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum, students are rallying their communities and helping to collect donated items from their area shelters’ wish lists. They are gathering items such as pet toys, beds and treats to help homeless animals.

The Mutt-i-grees Curriculum wishes to thank and congratulate staff and students from the following schools for helping their nearby shelters. You are making a tremendous difference and helping to save the lives of Mutt-i-grees!
