The Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum is a Pre-K-Grade 12 program, in four phases. Phase I: Pre-K-Grade 3; Phase II: Grades 4-5 and 6; Phase III: Middle School; and Phase IV: High School. The first two phases are complete and available to educators interested in implementation. Phases III and IV will be available in soon.

The Curriculum provides educators and families with the tools they need to enhance children’s social and emotional skill development at different developmental stages. For young children, the Pre-K-Grade 3 Curriculum includes a plush hand puppet, called Mutt-i-gree® Puppet, which is used as an instructional aide. Lessons include role-play using Mutt-i-gree® Puppet, arts and crafts projects, and/or games involving dogs.

In the Grade 4-6 Curriculum, students create a Mutt-i-grees® Manuscript, a compilation of lesson activities. The Grade 4-6 Curriculum includes opportunities for role playing, physical activities, and opportunities to use digital media.

All Curriculum lessons highlight vocabulary building, books and resources, and parent/community involvement. Featured lessons on dog behavior developed with Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan are included for students at all grade levels to enhance their understanding of dogs’ unique behavioral characteristics.
