Mutt-i-grees Library Hosts 'Roll With Me' Adoption Event

This fall, Gabriel Cordell rode his wheelchair from Montauk Point to Port Washington, NY to raise funds and awareness for North Shore Animal League America. On October 7, 2015, he made a stop in Centereach, NY for a special adoption event hosted by Middle Country Public Library and their Mutt-i-grees Club.

Mutt-i-grees Team Celebrates National Dog Day at New York Public Library

The Mutt-i-grees team celebrated ‪National Dog Day at New York Public Library’s George Bruce Branch in Harlem on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, with Biggie, a sweet, ten-year-old shepherd mix from North Shore Animal League America and a group of incredible teens. As part of the library’s summer programming, young patrons were invited to meet an adoptable Mutt-i-gree and discover how they can make a difference in the lives of homeless animals.

NJ Library Hosts Mutt-i-grees Meet and Greet

This July, the Mutt-i-grees team was on-site in Elizabeth, NJ with some adoptable Mutt-i-grees from North Shore Animal League America for an interactive presentation for children and families at Elizabeth Public Library as part of its summer reading club. More than eighty attendees of all ages participated in our program, which, according to Linda Gauld-Elichko, Head of Children’s Services, was the most successful summer program this year! Families were able to meet two adorable puppies and learned about the importance of animal adoption and what makes Mutt-i-grees unique.

Teens Unmask The Hero Within at Glen Rock Public Library

After learning about our Mutt-i-grees in the Library initiative at a professional development training session sponsored by The Karma Foundation earlier this year, Audra Jackson, Teen/Technology Librarian at Glen Rock Public Library, invited the Mutt-i-grees team to visit Glen Rock, NJ and meet with teens in her community to discuss ways in which they can be heroes for animals. Of course, our team was honored to be included in the library’s superhero summer reading theme!

Mutt-i-grees Camp Offers Students A Meaningful Summer Experience

This summer, students from the M.U.T.T.S. Club in Van Buren County, AR participated in a week-long Mutt-i-grees Summer Camp, where they completed a variety of service learning projects that benefit the people and animals in their community, including volunteering at local animal shelters and visiting with senior citizens at Ozark Health Nursing Home in Clinton, AR.
