Thanks to the support of Caitlyn Colman-McGaw, programming assistant for young adult education and engagement at New York Public Library, branches across the boroughs are joining our Mutt-i-grees in the Library initiative and introducing children, teens, and families to the importance of shelter pet adoption.

Students Meet a Mutt-i-gree at New York Public Library's Chatham Square Branch

We had a blast with students from MS 131 in Manhattan this fall during our first visit to New York Public Library’s Chatham Square Branch. The visit was one of many planned over the coming months as part of our growing relationship with the Library. The students, who are members of Careen Halton’s Class 707, walked over to the library during one class period as part of their ongoing visits with Jeff Katz, Senior Young Adult Librarian, and his team.

Mutt-i-grees Team Participates in Parent-Toddler Workshop

This fall, members of the Mutt-i-grees team participated in a Parent-Toddler Workshop, which is part of a series hosted by Jackie Narkiewicz, Head of Children's Services at Copiague Memorial Library in Copiague, NY. This workshop series provides caregivers with opportunities to learn about resources in their communities and Jackie uses this venue to invite community partners to speak on issues relevant to attendees (often on subjects related to parenting: foods for toddlers, potty training, etc).
