Moving with Mutt-i-grees®
The Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum takes a whole child approach to education, including social and emotional development, as well as cognitive and physical development. The importance of physical well-being and fitness cannot be over-emphasized. In many of the lessons we show that regular exercise helps create healthy, balanced dogs (and people!). The benefits of physical fitness extend beyond good health; studies show that providing students with daily opportunities to be active can increase their happiness and their productivity in school. Did You Know?
Did you know that the benefits of gaining self-awareness, empathy, compassion, and other social and emotional skills extend beyond childhood? Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is based on the research on emotional intelligence. It is a process that enables children to learn specific skills: how to recognize and control their emotions, how to care about people and animals around them, how to cooperate and develop positive and rewarding relationships, and how to make ethical and responsible decisions that benefit themselves, their friends and family, their pets, and the environment. Wall of Words
Vocabulary is an essential part of learning and is vitally important within social interactions. The more words children know, the more they are able to understand what they read and hear and the better able they are to communicate. Have you ever felt frustrated not having the right word? Sometimes it's a matter of recall – we simply can't remember the word. But often we just don't know the word, leaving us unable to effectively express ourselves. Vocabulary building is so important, which is why it is a central part of the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum lessons.

Mutt-i-grees® Club Activities
The Mutt-i-grees® Club Activities are a series of ideas for community outreach and service learning that complement the Curriculum’s core social and emotional learning lessons. The activities are presented in lesson format and provide suggestions for opportunities to help others for students who may be too young to volunteer with some organizations. Mutt-i-grees® Club Activities can be implemented with students of all ages.
