    Westhab: In response growing homelessness, Westhab expanded its focus to renovate and operate shelters in Westchester since 1981. They improve entire communities by engaging resident leaders and neighborhood stakeholders. Always intent not just on addressing the problem, but working to find a solution. The Mutt-i-grees Program works with youth in the local schools that reside in Westhab housing bringing rescue dogs to teach 21st century skills. Bridging social emotional learning with rescue pets, we provide a platform to cultivate empathy, build resiliency and bring a bit of hope. We are honored to be a program partner with Westhab.

    Nicholas Center: The Nicholas Center’s mission is to support individuals with autism in leading full and productive lives in their neighborhood. Their goal is to deliver needed services which allows participants to have a professional life that promotes independence, skill building, enrichment and full integration in the community. The Mutt-i-grees Program visits the Nicholas Center with rescue pets connecting with their employed staff in support of the organization’s platform to cultivate empathy, build leadership and foster meaningful relationships.

    Catholic Charities:
    Our team visits with unaccompanied immigrant minors who are under the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlements. We work with the children to support social emotional learning with rescue dogs via our Mutt-i-grees Curriculum while they wait for their group orientation called “Know Your rights” and to meet for individual legal screening to assess legal relief eligibility in the United Sates. Their age range varies significantly from 5 through 17 years old and most of the youth speak only Spanish.

These hospitals provide primary and preventive health care services in their own neighborhoods. The Mutt-i-grees Team visits to support and promote a healthy lifestyle connecting patients with rescue pets while teaching social emotional skills to build resiliency.
