If you stop by Herr Memorial Library in Mifflinburg, PA on a given day, you might run into two very special visitors: Dascha and Jack, the library’s two dedicated reading therapy dogs. Along with their handlers, these loyal pups participate in the library’s Ruff’s Pack Readers program, which promotes literacy and a lifelong love of learning in its young patrons. Ruff, the Mutt-i-gree puppet and library’s mascot, loves spending time with his furry friends!  As a special thank you to Jack, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Dascha, a long-haired Dachshund, the library purchased several children’s books featuring the two breeds that are now in circulation: herr-library-book-donation-therapy-dog-librarian-2
